On 8 October, a series of concerts will showcase the creative capacities of teachers and students. Works by Zbigniew Bujarski, Krzysztof Penderecki, and their former students Michael Gatonski, Karol Nepelski and Hyewon Lee will be performed. Before the concert there will be a discussion with Maestro Penderecki, led by Małgorzata Janicka-Słysz.
The concert program includes:
- Zbigniew Bujarski (b. 1933) Kwartet na jesień [Quartet for Autumn] (2001)
- Michael Gatonska (b. 1967) Earth: Dark Forest (from the piles of earth of darkening days) for clarinet and piano (2018) [world premiere]
- Karol Nepelski (b. 1982) Circlesong [Circlesong] for instrumental ensemble (2009)
- Hyewon Lee (b. 1970) Beyond for solo piano (2018) [world premiere]
- Krzysztof Penderecki (b. 1933) 3rd String Quartet (2008)
Performers include: Martyna Klupś-Radny (flute), Barbara Borowicz (clarinet), Dominika Peszko (piano), String Quartet Dafô: Justyna Duda (violin I), Danuta Augustyn (violin II), Aneta Dumanowska (viola) and Anna Armatys-Borrelli (cello), and Patrycja Pieczara (conductor)
