Winners of the first Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Competition for Young Pianists, held in Washington DC in early March, will be presented in a recital at the Foundation’s New York City headquarters on Saturday, May 19. Pianists competed in three age categories: 12 and younger, 13-15 and 16-18 years old. The goal of this Competition is to encourage young talent to explore challenging piano repertoire and share their achievements with the public.

2018 Winners:

Category 1 (12 and younger)

  • 3rd Prize – Matthew Chang, MD
  • Honorable Mention – Michelle Wang, MD

Category 2 (13-15 years old)

  • 1st Prize – Dominik Yoder, CA
  • 2nd Prize – Angeline Ma, PA
  • 3rd Prize – Madeline Xu, MD
  • Honorable Mention – Stephanie Draughon, VA

Category 3 (16-18 years old)

  • 1st Prize – Ryan Soeyadi, NY
  • 2nd Prize – William Tang, NY
  • 3rd Prize – Junhao Wang ex-aequo, UT
  • 3rd Prize – Lukasz Yoder ex-aequo, CA
