In 2017, the PMC and supporter Diana Eisele initiated a concert series in collaboration with the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust in Pan Pacific Park. The programs in this series spotlight works by Polish Jewish composers who are prominent in the PMC’s archive and library collections. Held in the Museum, these events have been sold-out affairs from the start. They are often attended by friends and family members of the composers as well as survivors of the Holocaust living in Los Angeles. Events have include not only concerts performed by excellent musicians from California and abroad, but also related exhibits of memorabilia and survivor talks. Several of these concerts have been broadcast on both the Museum’s website and the PMC’s YouTube channel.
- May 2017: The Music of Roman Ryterband
- August 2017: Henry Vars Anniversary Celebration
- February 2018: Chamber Music by Polish Jewish Composers
We are thankful to the L.A. Museum of the Holocaust, the Polish Consulate General in Los Angeles, and the surrounding community for their support of these events!
