Celebrating their 40th Anniversary Season (1977 – 2017), the Chopin Foundation of the United States and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits will present the final Chopin for All Free Concert of the season, featuring young American pianist Reed Tetzloff in a solo piano recital. Tetzloff, an outstanding young artist, will perform a concert of music by Schumann and Chopin.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Reed Tetzloff studied under the tutelage of Dr. Paul Wirth, Pavlina Dokovska, and Pavlina Dokovska (Mannes School of Music – The New School in New York City). He made his debut as a recitalist and concerto soloist in 2012 and has performed in three continents alongside numerous orchestras, including the Cincinnati Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Tbilisi Symphony, and the Wayzata Symphony. Tetzloff has won prizes at several international competitions, such as the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy, Cincinnati World Piano Competition, Cleveland International Piano Competition, Schimmel, and the Tbilisi International Piano Competition. At the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015, Tetzloff’s career was given a major boost after being named one of twelve semi-finalists. Tetzloff has been praised as a “young American to watch” by The Cincinnati Enquirer and as an “ebullient” virtuoso by Grammophone Magazine. His rhetorical approach to the music he performs, along with a warmly charismatic stage presence, are trademarks of his communication with an audience.
