Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, this year’s edition of the International Festival of the Wieniawski Brothers will be held February 10 – March 10 at the Lublin Philharmonic. The event is a tribute to Henryk and Józef Wieniawski, whose Semiramis Op. 52 for choir and orchestra will be premiered in the opening concert, along with Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major, Op. 26 by and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2″Resurrection” in C minor, performed by soprano Dorota Wójcik, mezzosoprano Urszula Kryger, pianist Lukas Geniušas, Chamber Choir “Gloria” (Lviv), and the Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Lublin Philharmonic under the baton of Wojciech Rodek. Works by Fryderyk Chopin, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Antoni Stolpe, Juliusz Zarębski, Stanisław Moniuszko, Anton Bruckner, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Krzysztof Penderecki will be featured throughout the festival as well.
