Composer and pianist Jarosław Siwińskihas been named the new director of the Warsaw Music Encounters Festival. Władysław Słowiński, who founded of the festival and served as the previous director, has agreed to continue his involvement as the honorary director of the event.

Warsaw Music Encounters is an annual festival organized by the Warsaw department of the Polish Composers’ Union [ZKP] since 1986. It is one of the foremost festivals presenting both contemporary and early music. The program includes important early and new music compositions and promotes the most recent works by contemporary composers, attributing to the festival’s unique character. The event hosts many excellent performers with an interesting choice of repertoire and, with each edition, attracts a larger and more varied audience.
