Organized by the City of Kraków and Kraków Festival Bureau, the XIV Sacrum Profanum Festival will take a place on October 1-8 in Kraków. The 14th edition of the festival focuses on multithread academic composition, wild avant-garde and indie classical streams of 20th century music.
This year, the audience will be presented with performances by such artists as Nico Muhly, Nadia Sirota, Daníel Bjarnason, Valgeir Sigurðsson (of the Bedroom Community), Barbara Kinga Majewska, Stephen Drury, Arditti Quartet, Ensemble InterContemporain, Spółdzielnia Muzyczna, Sinfonietta Cracoviaand many others. Two operas will also be featured in the program: Folie à Deux by award-winning British composer Emily Hall and Icelandic writer Sjón, and the Opera About Poland with music by Artur Zagajewski and choreographed by Dominika Knapik. In addition to these concerts, audiences will be able to participate in discussion panels, exhibitions and meetings with artists.
