The multi-award winning Silesian Quartet’s new recording of the complete string quartets by Grażyna Bacewicz has been widely well received since its release in July. The album set not only reached number three on British classical charts, but was also named “Disc of the Month” in August 2016 by Gramophone Magazine. Months later, enthusiastic reviews and reception of the album persist as Katie Lodge from North East Music Magazine writes: “The Silesian Quartet present them all with an open sound, not overly dramatic, and very well timed and placed in terms of the changes of tempi; there really is nothing to criticise! It is a real pleasure to find a quartet performing works in such a way so as to bring them to new audiences, rather than yearning for ‘that’ standout interpretation of a classic.”
