On October 1, 2016, winners of the “Koryfeusz” [Coryphaeus] Polish Music Award were announced at a special gala held at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw. The awards were granted in 4 categories:
- Karol Mossakowski – Debut of the Year
- Agata Zubel – Personality of the Year
- Opening of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław – Event of the Year
- Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski – Honorary Award
Winners received commemorative statuettes designed by Prof. Adam Myjak, while the financial rewards (for the Personality of the Year Award and Honorary Award) were funded by the ZAiKS Authors’ Association and the STOART Union of Performing Artists.
Organized by the Institute of Music and Dance and Polish Radio Program 2, the gala concert was performed by singer Aga Zaryan, Nikola Kołodziejczyk Orchestra, saxophonist Łukasz Dyczko, pianist Jakub Sikora and Royal String Quartet. The program included compositions by Jan Krenz, Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski and Nikola Kołodziejczyk.
