The PGNiG Transatlantyk Festival was held in Łódź from June 23-20, 2016. The winner of this year’s Transatlantyk Film Music Competition was Jeffrey van Rossum, who received a diploma and a check for the amount of 20,000 PLN. The second prize winner was Oli Jan (10,000 PLN) and the third prize winner was Marcin Kuczewski (5,000 PLN). Honorable Mentions were given to He Li and Ahmed Soroko. The Jury of this competition comprised of: Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz (Head of the Jury), Roque Banos, Daniel Pemberton and Paweł Sztompke.
The winner of the Transatlantyk Instant Composition Contest was Sebastian Zawadzki, who received a diploma and a check for the amount of 15,000 PLN. The second prize winner was Tomasz Wielechowski (7,500 PLN) and the third prize winner was Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk (5,000 PLN). Honorable Mentions were given to Hanna Raniszewska and Vitaliy Kiyantsii. The Jury of this competition comprised of: Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (Head of the Jury), Ray Costa, Matthias Hornschuh and Rafał Paczkowski.
The awards ceremony took place on Thursday June 30 at the Łódź Grand Theater during the 2016 Closing Gala event. The gala was hosted by Grażyna Torbicka and Tomasz Raczek.
