On the occasion of Ignacy Jan Paderewski’s 75th death anniversary, the National Center of Culture in Warsaw organized a Musical Marathon to commemorate the great composer. It was held on June 29, 2016 at Krakowskie Przedmieście 15/17.
Well known virutosi as well as many rising young talents, including music students from Warsaw’s music high schools and students of the Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw, performed in the courtyard of the Center’s Kordegard library. The program included compositions by Paderewski as well as pieces from his extensive piano repertoire. The marathon commenced at 3 PM with a recital by Maciej Grzybowski and ended at 8:30 PM with a performance by Paweł Kowalski. Before the performances, Wiesław Dąbrowski’s short film “Paderewski: Man of Action, Success and Fame” was screened.
