Beginning on May 28 and continuing until November 27, the Traugutt Philharmonic in Warsaw will present the Thirteenth Festival of Song, featuring top-notch Polish and foreign vocal repertoire and performers. The Festival intersperses recitals devoted to vocal works by Polish composers with those featuring composers from other European countries. Concerts will be held in some of the most spectacular venues in Warsaw, including the Great Hall of the Royal Castle, the Łazienki Palace, and the White Hall of the Wilanów Royal Castle.
The May 28 opening gala featured soprano Olga Pasiecznik and countertenor Jan Jakub Monowid in a program of works by Edward Pałłasz, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and Benjamin Britten. The subsequent programs will present works by Mikołaj Gomółka, Stanisław Niewiadomski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Mikuli, Paweł Łukaszewski, and Stanisław Moniuszko. Later in the fall, songs from Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Slovak Republic and France will be heard across the Polish capital. The last concert (27 November 2016) will feature songs of the November 1831 Uprising.
