Polish baritone Artur Ruciński made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in February on the opening night of a new production of Puccini’s famous opera, Madame Butterfly. Ruciński shares his role with American baritone Dwayne Croft as Sharpless, the American consulate at Nagasaki. Though he only has two more performances at the Met in March, there is no doubt that Ruciński is greatly satisfied with his experience as he tells Polskie Radio: “What else could I expect from a debut performance? I feel great. The atmosphere was fantastic right from the start. I got support from other members of the cast, from the conductor and the Met management. I am extremely happy.”
