Outstanding Polish pianist and laureate Joanna Różewska will perform for the very first time in the US. The concert is organized by the Polish American Club of Greater Sacramento and will be held at the Club’s Community Hall on March 5. The program will consist solely of Chopin’s works, in celebration of what would be the composer’s 206th birthday.
Różewska was born in 1988 in Siedlce, Poland. She began her piano studies at the age of 8 and, in 2012, she graduated with distinction from the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Prof. Elżbieta Tarnawska. She has extensively performed Chopin’s pieces as part of her repertoire and in many Polish and international concerts and competitions. She played for the President of Poland, Turkey, the Queen of Norway, the Prince of Wales, the Prime Minister of China and Ukraine, and has received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture, the National Children Fund and the President of Siedlce. In 2012 she received the Young Polandscholarship for CD recording.
