A new choral piece by Paweł Łukaszewski—Veni Sancte Spiritus for Two Unaccompanied Mixed Choirs, dedicated to the memory of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki—was performed by the orchestra and choir of the Kraków Philharmonic for the first time on October 2 at an oratory concert at Kraków Philharmonic Hall.
The program also featured Przybądź Duchu Święty [Come, Holy Spirit] Op. 61 by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Towards the Unknown Region by Ralph Vaughan Williams and the Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 by Ludwig van Beethoven. The concert was performed by the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Martyn Brabbins and the Kraków Philharmonic Choir, prepared by Teresa Majka-Pacanek.

The lyrics of “golden” sequence pertaining to the Holy Spirit refer to one of the most important theses of the Christian faith, therefore it has been interpreted by composers from different nationalities and periods of time—including H.M. Górecki and P. Łukaszewski. The song Przybądź Duchu Święty op. 61 by Górecki was based on the Polish translation of a text from a songbook by Fr. W. Lewkowicz, and the work Veni Sancte Spiritus by Łukaszewski is in the original Latin, however in both of these sacred compositions the word plays a very important role.
