The Institute of Music and Dance (IMiT) has published the Annex to the Report on the Presence of Andrzej Panufnik’s Music in Poland and in the World. Written by Beata Boleslawska-Lewandowska, the report is a complement to the previous volume, exploring the presence of music by Andrzej Panufnik during the years after his death, 1991-2013.
Boleslawska-Lewandowska has amassed information from several sources, including his publisher in London, Boosey & Hawkes, the ZAIKS Association of Authors and the composer’s family, especially his wife Lady Camilla Panufnik, who was a participant of most of the jubilee events. The aim of this piece was to find out how the 2014 centenary year influenced the presence of his works on programs around the world. Interestingly, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sir Andrzej Panufnik (1914-1991) was celebrated in 2014 under the auspices of UNESCO as well.
