The two most important cities in the Kujawy Region of Poland—Bydgoszcz and Toruń—hosted world premieres on June 5 and 6 that spotlighted music by leading local composers. Soloists of Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz and the Toruń Symphony Orchestra led by Piotr Wajrak presented works by Marcin Kopczyński (based in a nearby town of Inowrocław) and Szymon Godziemba-Trytka (who hails from Bydgoszcz). Works premiered were:
- Marcin Kopczyński (L above): Dico ego opera mea Regi for soprano and string orchestra and Scherzo for violin and string orchestra
- Szymon Godziemba-Trytka (R above): Magnificat for soloists, flutes, percussion and string orchestra
The concerts were held on June 5 at the Holy Ghost Church in Toruń and on June 6 at the St. Andrew Bobola Church in Bydgoszcz. They were co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Republic of Poland (MKiDN) within the program “Collections” [Kolekcje] spotlighting “Commissioned Compositions” [Zamówienia kompozytorskie], as implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance (IMiT), as well as by funds from the Marshall’s office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship.
