The Marcin Józef Żebrowski Music School in Częstochowa organized the third biennial celebrations of Marian Sawa’s music, presenting concerts, workshops, master classes and concerts, including world premieres of Sawa’s music. This year’s festivities took place June 30—July 4 and were co-sponsored by the local Center for Arts Education and Marian Sawa Society.

Marian Sawa (1937-2005) was a prolific composer with over one thousand works in his catalogue, consisting mainly of organ and choral music. Previous editions of Sawa Festival in Częstochowa were held in 2010 and 2012. More concerts and celebratory events are planned for next year, which will mark the 10th anniversary of Sawa’s death.
