From June 15 to August 30, 2014, the 15th edition of the “Kolory Polski” [Polish Colors] Festival will be held, featuring works from across different genres and epochs. Hosted by the Łódź Philharmonic, the Festival presents concerts of jazz, classical, baroque, film, musical, folk, Jewish, electronic, Balkan and góral music, to mention a few, in the most beautiful places of the Łódź region. Concerts are performed in numerous venues selected for their historical value as well as their atmosphere.
The inauguration of this year’s edition of the Festival took place on Saturday, June 28 in the convent of the Ursuline Sisters in Sieradz, Poland. The performance featured outstanding violinist Konstanty Andrzej Kulka who, along with the “Sinfonietta” Youth Orchestra of the Łódź Region, played Orawa by Wojciech Kilar, Three Pieces in the Old Style by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi. On the conductor’s podium was Adam Klocek, managing and artistic director Kalisz Philharmonic.
