On April 20, in Aula Nova of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, a concert in the “Music of Our Times” series took place. The concert featured works by Dariusz Przybylski(Figure veneziane), Mateusz Śmigasiewicz (Wariacje), Ignacy Zalewski (Kaprys w formie mazurka), Kamil Kruk (Strzępy snu), Aleksandra Kaca (Smugi Cienia), Michał Dobrzyński(Mgnienie III), Szymon Godziemba-Trytek (Contemplation of One’s man Martydom) and Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska(Trzy Tańce Polskie).
The Academy of Music in Poznań co-organizes the “Music of Our Times” project, which is a 4-year long program with the aim of promoting young composers of the XXI century. The organizers of the project are: Stowarzyszenie Akademia im. Krzysztofa Pendereckiego – The International Center of Music, The Krzysztof Penderecki European Center of Music and Polish academies of music in Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Łódź, Poznań and Warsaw and 6 schools of music in Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Konin, Kraków, Radom and Warsaw. The goal of the project is to introduce the audience and performers to the works of young generation composers.
The first edition of the program “Music of Our Times” was staged at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Center of Music in Lutosławice on March 11, 2017.
