Polish Music at Jacaranda

Vivid Reveries

Held on May 25, the concert ‘Vivid Reveries’ will cap the 2018/2019 Jacaranda Music Series season. ‘Vivid Reveries’ will feature highly acclaimed former LA Phil principal clarinetist, Michele Zukovsky, and Los Angeles contemporary music scene favorite, pianist Gloria Cheng, for a classic pair of 20th century duos: Alban Berg’s expressionist Four Pieces, and Witold Lutoslawski’s extroverted Dance Preludes. Also on the program: Mauricio Kagel – Piano Trio No. 3, and Wolfgang Mozart – Quintet in E-flat K 452.

Varsovia By The Sea

‘Varsovia By The Sea’ is a special benefit concert and after party celebrating the 100th anniversary of the US-Polish Alliance, presented by the prestigious Jacaranda Music Series in conjunction with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Los Angeles. This concert will present a program of Grażyna Bacewicz, Fryderyk Chopin, Witold Lutoslawski and Karol Szymanowski. Performances will be given by artists associated with Jacaranda, including: Gloria Cheng, David Kaplan and Steven Vanhauwaert, piano; Michele Zukovsky, clarinet; Alyssa Park, violin; and Timothy Loo, cello.
