“Polish music, [Plowright] has it in his heart, in his soul…” Ruch Muzyczny

British pianist Jonathan Plowright—a champion of Polish Romantic repertoire for the piano—has been invited to participate in a number of events to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Polish Independence this year in Poland:

5 August 2018 | 8:00 p.m.: Duszniki International Chopin Piano Festival

Plowright will appear at this prestigious Polish festival for the first time, invited in honor of his continued success in the promotion of Polish music on the international stage. He will perform a solo recital featuring the works of Paderewski, Stojowski and Chopin.

11 November 2018 (Polish Independence Day): Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra

Plowright will team up with Maestro Łukasz Borowicz once again to give a performance of the recently recorded Paderewski Piano Concerto (Warner Classics, 2017), which was named as both Gramophone Editor’s Choice and BBC Music Magazine Concerto Choice and received 5* rave reviews from International Piano and Pizzicato. Also on this all-Polish program are: Krzysztof Penderecki –Fanfare for Orchestra; Aleksander Tansman – Four Polish Dances; Tadeusz Szeligowski – Kaziuki and Suite for Orchestra; Andrzej Panufnik – Sinfonia votiva (Symphony No. 8); Feliks Nowowiejski – Rota [The Oath], version for choir and orchestra arr. by Jan Maklakiewicz.
