On 13 August, Agata Zubel’s “Fireworks” will premiere at the Chopin and His Europe Festival. The piece will be performed by the European Union Youth Orchestra, led by Gianandrea Noseda.
PWM describes the piece as:
An eight-minute work by Agata Zubel, “Fireworks” was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Polish independence and contains an explosion of ideas and sounds. Musical fireworks perfectly correspond with the joy that accompanies freedom and are realized thanks to the monumental cast of the work. Thanks to the use of unconventional techniques of sound production, the various instrumental groups and the extended cast of percussion instruments build a narrative of extreme expression and present a fete of musical colors and shapes.
