A selection of Chopin’s greatest solo works performed by Stefan Łabanowski are on the latest Acte Préalable CD release. Reviewing this disc for the May 2015 issue of Muzyka 21, Arkadiusz Jędrasik praised the performer for his “… technical accuracy, beautiful sound and respect for the composer’s ideas. […] Everything is very clear and natural. […] The pianist gives eloquent reading, shapes the dynamics and, thankfully, we do not encounter the superfluous expression or ecstasy. Instead, there is expressive depth and a whole range of emotions inferred from the score.”

Interviewed about the choice of repertoire, Mr. Łabanowski disclosed, “I’ve chosen the works that, during the time of recording sessions, had impressed me most by their beauty, works that spoke to me most directly—those that I enjoyed performing the most.”
